SELF CONTAINMENT
By making sure your caravan is certified as fully self-contained, you are being responsible, respectful campers, leaving any site as pristine as you find it. It also allows you to take full advantage of New Zealand's most remote, beautiful and very often free camping areas.
A certified, self-contained caravan must be able to accommodate its inhabitants ablutionary and sanitary needs for a minimum of three days without any waste products being expelled into the environment.
At Freedom Caravanz we make it easy. Every caravan is self-contained and certified by our own qualified self-containment officer before you drive it away.
We carry out the necessary self-containment modifications and tests and ensure that your caravan will comply with all of the NZS 5465:2001 regulations.
SATELLITE
When the weather takes a turn for the worst, or if you just want to catch up with your favourite show, a TV and satellite system means you can sit back and relax and enjoy a bit of "home away from home" whilst you are on holiday.
Most imported caravans have some kind of TV antenna, but often these are not suitable for the signals that are broadcast here in New Zealand. Getting a good TV reception in your caravan can sometimes be a frustrating business and for that reason, we generally recommend some form of Satellite system.

SOLAR POWER
WATER TANKS
Whilst you’re enjoying the freedom that self-containment brings, you may also have questions relating to fresh and wastewater storage. Freedom Caravanz will discuss with you the advantages and disadvantages of portable and fixed water tanks.
If you’re the type of travellers that requires water storage to be permanently installed, we are happy to supply and install a system that works for you and that still complies with the regulations.
Solar power is a perfect add-on for caravans. It provides a means of keeping your battery charged if you're unable to plug into a mains power supply.
There are a number of different options available, each with their own benefits and disadvantages. One of the biggest considerations is what size panel to use and this really does come down to how much power you're expecting to use. Mono or Polycrystalline panels? PWM or MPPT regulators? For lots of people, these questions can be a little daunting but Freedom Caravanz is happy to work with you to help you understand the differences and to find a solution that suits you.
It’s important that your Solar system not only functions correctly but is also safe and for that reason, all of our Solar power installations are installed by a qualified Electrician.
